There are three situations to use ‘to miss’.
“miss”有三个意思
1错过
1)to arrive too late for / to not to attend 错过了/没有参加
event / opportunity / class / lesson / deadline / appointment / meeting / party / sports match / show / concert

Did you watch the football game last night?No I miss it.
你昨天看足球比赛了吗?没有，我错过了 。
2)to fail to：not see / hear / notice
[eg]
I missed what you were saying.= I didn’t hear what you were saying.
我没有听到你刚才说的话 。(我错过了你刚才说的话)
3)to arrive too late for：transport / bus / train / fight / plane 错过了公共交通
[eg]
Sorry I lost the bus.---Sorry I missed the bus.
对不起，我错过了公共汽车 。
2想念
to feel sad that：somebody / something is not present
friend / family / the way things used to be / an object / doing something
3漏掉
the point / a target / your chance
[eg]
You totally miss the point.
= You haven’t understood the point of this conversation.
你完全漏掉了重点 。(你完全没有理解我们今天谈话的重点)
I miss you when I’m depressed, just as I miss the sunshine in the winter; I miss you when I’m irritable, just as I miss the green shade in the blazing sun.
